How TUTOR works

Patient help, built on the real curriculum

TUTOR is a calm, one-to-one tutor for a Fijian child — from sounding out first words in Year 1 to sitting external exams in Year 13. It teaches from the real Fiji National Curriculum, explains every answer in steps, and shows where the answer came from.

Getting started

Three steps, about a minute

01

Create a family account

Add your child and choose their year level. Starting is free and never needs a card. One account can hold more than one child.

02

Pick a subject, or just ask

Open a lesson from the curriculum, sit a short quiz, or type, speak, or photograph the question that's stuck. TUTOR meets the child where they are.

03

Learn, practise, and track

Answers are explained step by step, worksheets can be printed for screen-free study, and the progress page shows honest growth — what's mastered, and what's next.

Safe AI, built for children

How sourcing works

Most AI tools answer confidently whether or not they are right. TUTOR works the other way: it reaches for real NCF textbooks and past papers first. When it has a source, it names it. When it doesn't, it says so plainly instead of inventing one.

Ana, Year 7 — “How do I find the area of a triangle with base 8 cm and height 5 cm?”

Let's work it out together. The formula for the area of a triangle is:
Area = ½ × base × height
Area = ½ × 8 × 5 = 20 cm²
Try the next one yourself — what changes if the height becomes 6 cm?
Source: NCF Year 7 Mathematics · Measurement

When TUTOR has a real NCF source, it names the textbook or paper.

Sai, Year 9 — “Can you help me plan a short speech for our school assembly?”

Happy to help you plan it. A clear assembly speech usually has three parts:
1. A warm opening that says who you are
2. Two or three main points, one at a time
3. A short, kind closing
Which topic would you like to start with?
General guidance — no specific NCF source for this one

When there is no curriculum source, TUTOR says so — it does not invent one.

Two honest views

What a child sees, and what you see

Your child's view

Calm, and one thing at a time

No feed to scroll, no audience, no streak pressure built to keep them online. Just the lesson or question in front of them, explained patiently, with encouragement to try the next step.

  • A lesson, a quiz, or the AI tutor — nothing else competing for attention.
  • Worked answers, never just the final number.
  • Gentle when an answer is wrong — “try again,” not a red cross.
Your view as a parent

Enough to help, not to hover

A simple, honest summary of what your child has been practising and how they're going — so you can encourage them, without surveillance.

  • What subjects were practised, and what's been mastered.
  • Reading and maths progress, from first sounds to exam level.
  • Worksheets you can print for study away from the screen.
Made to fit the age

The same care, three ways

A Year 2 reader and a Year 13 exam candidate need very different help. TUTOR adjusts how it looks and how it explains to suit the age.

Foundation · Year 1–3

First words, first numbers

Bigger text, simpler words, and a Learn-to-Read phonics path. Plenty of encouragement, one small step at a time.

Primary · Year 4–8

Building the basics

Clear explanations and practice across every subject, steadily building toward the Year 8 examination.

Secondary · Year 9–13

Toward the exams

Fuller working, past-paper practice, and exam-focused help for the Year 12 and Year 13 external papers.

Safe by design

No feed, no audience, no pressure

TUTOR is a place to learn, not a place to perform. There is nothing for a child to post, and nothing other children can see — so the only thing in front of them is their own learning.

  • No social feed and no public posts — nothing a child makes is shown to other children.
  • Parents and teachers can see progress and usage at any time.
  • Answers are explained in steps a child can follow — never just handed over.
  • When TUTOR has no reliable source, it tells you, rather than guessing.
